Mixed skin

WHAT IS MIXED SKIN?

Combination skin, also called combined skin, can be in several different ways and is characterized by the fact that it always consists of a combination of both oilier and drier parts of the face.

The most common variant is the one that affects the T-zone, i.e. forehead, nose & chin. This zone usually tends to be oilier and more acne-prone. Namely, in the T-zone, the larger pores are usually blocked, which contributes to a higher sebum production that results in a shinier skin surface. Unlike the cheeks, eyes & neck which usually instead tend to become normal or dry.

CHARACTERISTICS OF MIXEDHY

  • Combine skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Oily T-zone (forehead, nose & chin)
  • Normal to dry cheeks

The oilier parts of the combination skin, T-zone (forehead, nose & chin) are caused when there is an overproduction of sebum. In contrast to the drier parts of mixed skin, which instead arise due to a lack of sebum and a corresponding lipid deficiency.

This form of skin type often changes between seasons, which means that you usually get a little worse skin in the winter and better in the summer, when it switches between the dry parts and the oily ones.

SKIN CARE FOR COMBINATION SKIN

As we mentioned earlier, combination skin consists of a combination of both oilier & drier parts of the face, which means that it requires different care for the different parts of the face. Because it is of great importance to work balancing on the fatter parts and at the same time make sure to moisturize in depth. A good way to treat different parts of the face is to apply several serums with different properties aimed at each need.

For best results, we recommend using skin care products that are suitable for combination skin and that contribute to a balancing effect. You then supplement with special products that are adapted to your specific needs.
